Ready to Crush with Confidence? Let’s Talk About Sex!

Over 90% of singles think it’s essential to talk about sexuality with their Crush. The survey highlights a growing trend toward making sex just another conversation topic, especially among 18-25-year-olds, with 69% feeling at ease discussing it. While men value open communication less (23%), women prioritize it more (32%), seeking self-awareness and respect. The Guide to Positive Sexuality is here to meet this need, offering tips and insights to foster a respectful, fulfilling, and open approach to sexuality

Pro Tip from the Guide to Positive Sexuality

Don’t let awkwardness take over! Schedule time to talk about your sex life to align expectations and strengthen your connection—even from those first dates!

Toward a Liberation of Masturbation?

Historically kept under wraps, especially for women, masturbation is now experiencing gradual liberation. Happn reveals that this topic is increasingly accepted: 60% of French singles report feeling comfortable with self-sexual exploration. However, disparities remain between genders, with men generally more comfortable (60%) than women (48%).

Nearly one in two respondents (45%) masturbates several times a week. However, variations appear according to gender and age: men are much more likely to masturbate daily (on average, 20% vs. 9% of women). 22% of women aged 18-26 masturbate less than once a month.

Beyond differences in frequency, masturbation methods also vary by gender and age. While two in three men (66%) are satisfied with simplicity or enjoy masturbating in the shower (27%), using accessories and toys hasn't yet become a habit for them (less than 3% use a sex toy). In contrast, one in two women prefers using sex toys. This trend becomes more pronounced after age 35, with up to 57% of women favoring toys, compared to only 4% of men.

Intimate Exploration for Self-Love

Intimate exploration plays a key role in personal growth and well-being, with 50% of singles saying masturbation helps them understand their needs better. For 64% of women, it even becomes an act of self-care. Being sexually aligned with a partner is now essential, as shared pleasure ranks just below mutual consent (33%) for a healthy relationship. This openness leads to a desire to experiment: 95% of respondents are willing to try new things to satisfy their partner.

Pro Tip from the Guide to Positive Sexuality

Don’t aim for perfect synchronization—embrace shifts in desire for both yourself and your partner to enjoy a more open and caring approach to sexuality!
