A survey carried out by the dating app happn in the week of Friend's Day shows that singles use the app as a way to find new friends

Dating apps are now one of the best ways to find your next Crush or the love of your life. When we talk about dating apps, it automatically comes to our mind that it’s because we are searching for love and relationships, but is that really so?

According to a survey conducted by happn, one of the most downloaded dating apps in the world, singles are already seeing dating platforms as another social network which provides the chance to meet and make new friends that could have some great common points with them. 

GenZ thinks better than the other?

The survey showed that Gen Z  is not fully clear on what they are looking for (48%) or is open to using dating apps to make friends (21%) primarily.

"Gen Z is increasingly open to meeting new people, and furthermore, the generation that is the most open to use applications in ways other than those for which they were created. This generation is really interesting to follow, and we observed that the young singles have some major differences with the older ones”, comments Karima Ben Abdelmalek, CEO & President at happn.

They also turn many friends into Crushes

"Younger people are always surrounded by people with the same tastes, interests and subjects in common with what they prefer. Therefore, 73% of the 18-24 singles confirmed that they have already had friends who became Crushes; it was the age group with the highest result in this survey, with the other age groups showing a drop", concludes Karima Ben Abdelmalek.
